About us

We are crazy about mental health - let us infect you!

We are nuts&needles - a small business run by Sarah, who herself suffers from complex post-traumatic stress disorder (cPTSD). She is dedicated to making accessories that help her cope with her own symptoms.

That is why our products are in shades of blue, green, yellow, red, gray and purple: These are the awareness colors of the different mental disorders we want to highlight. By using these colors in our designs, we hope to educate people about the problems of mental disorders while showing them that having a mental illness is not a bad thing.

We want to destigmatize mental health by turning something as simple as fashion into an opportunity to educate about what it means to live with a mental illness - and how loved ones can support those affected by it.

Feel free to check out our store or social media and see what we have to offer here at nuts&needles!

  • Sarah Doleschal

    founder & owner of nuts&needles

"Mental health has long been close to my heart for personal reasons, as I myself suffered from childhood trauma with a complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Personally, it helps me to keep my hands busy and textiles are my preferred medium.

With nuts&needles I can combine my two passions."

  • Chandler

As a service dog he recognizes and shows her panic attacks and dissociations and helps Sarah out of these situations again and provides inner and outer security.
